About
For the past 25 years, the Foster family has been raising Red Angus cattle in the Hamlet of Shepard Settlement and marketing them across the United States. The Farm focuses on owning and creating the most elite genetics to help other cattle producers better their herds. They do this through artificial insemination, In-vitro fertilization and using high quality bulls. While most of their animals are either kept on the farm or sold to other farmers, a small percentage are raised on the farm for beef which feeds the family.
The farm also grows corn and soybeans, mainly as a cash crop. They harvest hay and corn silage yearly to feed the cattle during winter.
In 2019, Lynda and son Michael began a coffee roasting operation on the farm: MilkHouse Roastery. This was a long-time passion and a needed diversification for the farm. Milkhouse Roastery sources beans selectively world-wide with emphasis on small, family-owned operations like the home farm and roasts them to each of their unique profiles for an exceptional coffee.

HOW TO SUPPORT THE FARM
“The public can support our farm by supporting all farmers: Buying beef and dairy products, using/eating corn and soy-based products, and supporting farmers in their mission to create safe and healthy food.”
