Dave Williams started Dutch Hill Maple in 1968, with just 15 buckets on trees he tapped in his backyard. Over the years he introduced his sons, Nathan and Darren, to maple syrup production and his hobby quickly grew into a family tradition.
Over fifty years later, Nathan now works alongside his Dad and business partner to operate a sugarbush of over 6,000 taps (with an additional couple thousand being added for the 2020 season). Dutch Hill Maple has grown from 15 buckets to an extensive tubing system utilizing a vacuum pump and reverse osmosis technology (although they do still have a few buckets for fun).
Nathan, with his wife Cristy and baby girl Kinslee, have worked to grow the family business by adding more taps, creating more maple products, and providing more opportunities to visit and learn about pure maple syrup production!
