“Why Yaks, You might ask? Well, for us it was because we had alpacas. We had been raising alpacas for about 12 years. We had done shows, seminars, and auctions. The herd grew and we witnessed and assisted in the full cycle of life. We had good years, and bad ones.

Meeting another alpaca breeder who also raised yaks opened our eyes to another venture for us. We traded alpaca fiber for yak meat, met our first live yaks, and we were hooked! Our herds encompass 2 types of exotic livestock from which we harvest fabulous fiber. (And the yak meat is healthy and delicious).”
